Men at Work

"Men at Work" is both amusing and hyper-active (it actually resembles one of Donald E. Westlake's capers) and it moves along at a cracking pace. It always makes good use of its modest ensemble of characters and fortunately the enthusiastic energy never falters for a second, but the story does frequently edge dangerously close to the improbable at times and the film also lacks the necessary drive and the punch required to have any sort of impact and unfortunately none of this is able to provide much of a distraction from the fact it is based upon an incredibly shaky premise anyway. It also doesn't really bother to provide any solutions to the various quandaries it introduces and quite frankly these shortcomings would definitely be a lot more problematic than they are if the film wasn't as engaging and enjoyable as it is.
