Pierre Arcand began his career in MontrĂ©al as a journalist. In 1978, he was appointed news editor for CKAC and the TĂ©lĂ©mĂ©dia network. In 1984, he was promoted to Vice-president and director general at CKAC, and in 1985 was named Senior Vice-president of TĂ©lĂ©mĂ©dia, a position he held until 1988 when he became co-owner of CFCF and CFQR.
