Jean-François Richet (born July 2, 1966) is a French film director and screenwriter. Debuting with Ătat des lieux (1995) and Ma 6-T va crack-er (1997), he earned early critical notice for his gritty portrayals of French suburban life. Richet expanded into international genre filmmaking with the remake Assault on Precinct 13 (2005). He achieved major critical acclaim with his two-part biographical crime epic Mesrine (2008), for which he won the CĂ©sar Award for Best Director.âŠ
