Beacon 22 is an original idea, I'll give it that. A light house in outer space, where nothing is what it seems. Mixing mystery/thriller and sci fi action adventure. Perhaps its biggest shortcoming, is it seems incoherent. Things happen but they don't tie together terribly well. This leaves the story feeling cluttered, for no reason that appears to make much rational sense. Also, some of the back story elements, seem incongruous. Why for example, would futuristic, high tech space beacon need a metal rod inserted into gears to get the light working correctly? Weird and oxymoron-ic, to say the least. Season 2 is more incoherent than season one and is, quite frankly, largely, boring. Sets are decent, acting is reasonable and CGI is mostly, well done. In summary, could have amounted to something were it not for a incoherent and at times, thoroughly tedious story.
