**Parallel World Pharmacy** *(Isekai Yakkyoku)* is an isekai, present time person extracted from their lives on earth to be transported to another via magic or divine intervention upon death, about a pharmacist, Kanji Yakutani, who lost who lost his baby sister to a leathal disease when he was a child. From her loss he developed a drive to become the leading pharmacists in the country of Japan. Such was his drive he worked himself to death, only to have his soul be moved to a boy who was struck by lightening in another world that happens to be 500 years behind in development to present day Japan. He awakes as this boy who is the son to a high ranking noble that is the chief medical doctor to the Empress of the land. Of course as per most isekai, Yakutani has abilities beyond the pale and uses his extensive knowledge of medicine and powers to begin helping those around him. Parallel World Pharmacy is not a bad story. It's is not outstanding either, but I think it *might encourage* a young mind to dabble in the world of medicine. I personally liked the boy's want to do the right thing regardless of what the person's personality; be it commoner or rogue, all get treatment. It's a good message. My only con about the series is the way it abruptly ended. There was no epilogue. The bad guy was defeated and the series ended. I don't know if the abrupt ending means the series is done, but a little after story about what happens with the hero and how his life would progress from there would have been nice. The ending felt like a present without the wrapper or bow. As if the creators said in a monotone, "Happy birthday. Here you go." Having slid you a brown box across the table and went about their day. Not a bad series. If I had to categorize it, I'd say it was "mild." Something to fill the time, and giving you a bit of information about how certain decisions about containment measures are needed; and how the difficult and troublesome containing a mass danger to the populace can be. It's not a waste time; you can learn something if you reflect on it. \-- Bob --
