falls flat Two lead actors who can carry a movie, a series by themselves, and - in a good ensemble - achieve near perfection? Sounds good! Plus a number of promising lesser know ones, a familiar scenario but not an exact copy (unused era/place combination, AFAIK), that could be great. I watched the first episode, and had trouble finishing it. It's all so ... lifeless, by the numbers, formulaic; it's the opposite of "gripping" and "immersive". Maybe they had a bad start? Maybe. But it doesn't give off the "vibe" of a slow start, or hidden potential. Some will see its appeal. To me, pity about the wasted potential.
