Click here for a video version: https://youtu.be/9qMn8PAd2ZU Somewhere way in the depths of my memory I recall watching a TV show called _Kenny vs Spenny_. To this day I can’t remember where or on what channel I saw it, or when that was, but I clearly remember watching some episodes of a show with two best friends pitting themselves against each other in stupid competitions, and the loser having to suffer a humiliation at the hands of the victor. Colour me surprised then when on Reddit I came across a post telling everyone that all 6 seasons of the show had been uploaded to YouTube by one of the creators. Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice are the titular stars of this series, and this is probably not a show you’d watch with your mum. It’s not quite as full on as _Jackass_, but gets pretty close sometimes with some gross out moments. Through the 6 seasons they have such battles as Who Can Stay Awake the Longest, Who Can Earn the Most Money in Three Days, First One to Use Their Arms Loses, Who Can Wear a Dead Octopus on Their Head the Longest, and as things devolve over time we even get such gems as Who Can Keep a Dump in Their Pants the Longest. It’s perfect late night entertainment! It does vary in quality quite a lot throughout, some episodes are hilarious, but others are not so interesting. At times it was less about who was going to win, but more about how Kenny was going to try and cheat his way around the rules. This is what made the show so popular over its runtime - the guys have such different personalities and approaches to the competitions that half the fun is watching the two of them try to not kill each other. The show ran from 2002 to 2010, was nominated for many awards, and spawned a number of copycat versions in countries as varied as the UK, Colombia, Germany, and India. As I said, all six seasons are available on YouTube on Kenny’s channel, so if you were a fan back in the day and want to relive the glory days, or if you’re in a pandemic related state of epic boredom, load these guys up and cover your eyes as the madness ensues.

Kenny vs. Spenny is one of the most hilariously unhinged shows to ever come out of the early 2000s. It takes a simple competition format and turns it into absolute chaos, powered by some of the best gross-out, cringe, and absurd humor of its era. Every episode feels unpredictable, with challenges that spiral way past what you'd expect, making it impossible not to laugh at how far things go. What really makes the show special is the dynamic between the two leads. Spenny tries (and usually fails) to play things straight, while Kenny is a full-blown cheater, liar, manipulator, and professional rule-bender. Instead of competing fairly, Kenny treats every challenge like psychological warfare, and watching his schemes unfold is half the fun. His lack of morals paired with Spenny's constant frustration creates comedy that feels raw, chaotic, and perfectly timed. The show captures that classic early-2000s vibe where TV wasn't afraid to be weird, gross, and uncomfortable in the best way. Between the outrageous challenges, brutal humiliations, and nonstop banter, Kenny vs. Spenny still holds up as one of the funniest and most original comedy series ever made. It's dumb, smart, disgusting, and brilliant all at once - and that's exactly why it's so memorable.
