Hard to imagine that a series supposedly promoting kindness was created and directed by Lukas Moodysson, a Christian Zionist who zealously supports Israel's genocide of Palestinians and who justifies its slaughter of tens of thousands of children - many of them literally shot in the head and chest by IOF snipers - as mere collateral damage. Not to mention, Moodysson supports the continued existence of the Israeli regime, which rules Palestine with violence and apartheid and tortures, kills, and rapes Palestinians on a daily basis both in prison concentration camps and on the streets of Gaza and the West Bank. But then again, the negative way Moodysson portrays Muslims/Arabs in this series - one as a begger outside a supermarket and the other as an insane gay man - betrays his Islamophobic and bigoted views. The 4-star rating I gave this series was due to the magnficent performances of Vilhelm Blomgren (as Gösta) and Amy Deasismont (as Melissa). Otherwise, I'd have given it 1 star.
